THE STORY

While the whole world is busy fretting over COVID-19, rape and sexual assault remains an age long evil resulting in an alarming rate of femicide.
Forbidden Topics is a youth-led feminist initiative and blog committed to breaking the silence on sexual violence such as rape faced by Adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) globally through the sharing stories of former victims and survivors to inspire a generation for change and give a voice to the voiceless. We leverage on story telling for impact through intergenerational dialogues and creating a platform to amplify female change makers voices.
We also empower victims of Gender Based Violence via mental health support, mentorship and skill acquisition for financial inclusion and reintegration in our work and advocacy to achieve gender equality and the protection of the sexual reproductive health and rights of females.
The name "Forbidden Topics" stem from the need to normalize conversations surrounding women's health rights and why it must be a priority during policy and decision making processes.
